Every industrial process whether it is water or sewage treatment, gas or petroleum processing, mining, food processing, power generation, chemical and plastic processes or other will require a proper management of flow of materials and pressure applied for better efficiency in tasks. For this reason valves are employed in the industrial processes.


An industrial valve is a device used in industrial applications to regulate flow of liquids, slurries, gases or solid materials. Many of them can actually help in controlling the pressure applied in the processes thereby giving better efficiency and control over the process. The industrial valves are quite different from the regular valves that are found in domestic applications like valves fitted to hot water systems, washing machines, car engines etc. These are products with rugged construction and therefore can handle bulk requirements in industries without failing out.


Different kinds of valves are used in industrial applications depending on the type of process or application for which the valve is used. These include ball valve, check valve, plug valve, diaphragm valve, butterfly valve, flush bottom valve and much more. Ball Valve


Ball valves are the valves having a spherical shaped disc with a hole. The port of the valve through this hole remains in complete alignment with the ends of the valve. These are quarter turn valves which are placed at point of flow of the liquid or gas and therefore can be operated for regulating the fluid flow while being used with other forms of valves. Today PTFE lined ball valves for quarter turn operation are available in the market. These PTFE lined valves are designed with high quality fluoropolymer materials and therefore can provide protection against potentially dangerous electro-static discharge and corrosions.
